In the past we did not ask for a deposit. However some clients canceled a few days or even hours before the time we agreed to show up. We had turned down other jobs because we had made a commitment to appear at the original clients event. We lost a lot of money that way! That's why we need to secure a deposit to cover our costs in case we turn down a job and cant replace it. The good news is when you give us a deposit, we promise to turn down other jobs even if we would make a lot more.

We Often have appearances already scheduled before and after your event, so we are usually on a tight schedule. PLEASE HAVE YOUR PAYMENT READY TO HAND US WHEN WE ARRIVE SO WE ARE NOT LATE TO SOMEONE ELSES EVENT. ALL FINAL PAYMENTS AT YOUR EVENT OR PARTY MUST BE CASH ONLY PLEASE! Most people book 1 to 2 months in advance. It's not required, but as the date of your party approaches, days and times get filled up. We suggest booking at least 1 to 2 months in advance. Do you have a last minute party? Please call us immediately. You may get lucky. We will try our hardest within reason to help. You can call 24 hours a day and leave a message. Many other companies have to pay a lot more overhead. When you add in office or building rent, storage facilities, payroll and office staff, they must charge more to make a profit. Also, many companies that advertise on the internet are booking agents. They could be located anywhere in the US They call us sometimes to show up at events that they booked. ALMOST ANYWHERE IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY AND WE DON'T CHARGE ANY EXTRA TRAVEL FEE LIKE ALMOST EVERY OTHER COMPANY DOES! If you have an event outside of San Diego county, we will consider it on a case by case basis. We may travel further depending on how booked up we are, how many miles away your event is, how many services you want, and for how long. In other words it has to be cost effective for you and us. We can provide entrance music with a small but fairly powerful, portable speaker. It streams music from our cell phone. To do that, we need to be in an area with a good cell phone signal. If you have a better sound system that you would like to use, we can send you the link to stream from instead. We meet and greet the birthday boy or girl, circulate a little in the crowd depending on visibility. Mostly we hang out with the kids, do high fives, pose with guests for pictures etc. IN MOST CASES MASCOTS DON'T TALK BECAUSE IF THEY DO, ITS A DEAD GIVEAWAY THAT A REAL PERSON IS INSIDE. Some Superhero's have a button we can push, and a short Phrase and/or a Sound Effect is emitted from the helmet. It is important that you keep encouraging guests to pose with the character or mascot for photos. It's also best to time our appearance so that the character is included in the happy birthday song. If time permits, and depending on how many children are there and their ages, we can provide a couple of games to help entertain your guests. Please request it in advance if possible. (Back to top)
It never hurts to ask. If we are able to stay, we will only charge our normal fees. If we say we can't, please be understanding. We may have to be at another event. If we can not stay, we will gently explain to the kids that we have to leave when the time is up.
Our departure might be upsetting to some kids or parents, but we will do our best to be kind when it's time to leave. (Back to top)
We have no experience or certifications as a child care provider. Please monitor and take responsibility for the children s behavior. Please treat characters, face painters, and balloon artists as you would like to be treated! DO NOT LET CHILDREN HIT, GRAB or PULL on CHARACTERS while they are trying to perform. Gentle hugging is okay, but please MONITOR YOUR CHILDREN. We do not Pick up or Hold children off the ground. This prevents us from doing our best job. Do not allow children to take our supplies. With all respect we are not a nanny or babysitter. Sometimes parents have said, " I don't want to have to do anything!" We are truly sorry, but that won't work for us. Depending on how kids are raised and their attention span, it can be very difficult to round them up for a group picture or a game. PLEASE TAKE A PROACTIVE ROLE. HELP TO DIRECT KIDS. IF YOU ARE HAVING OLDER KIDS AT YOUR PARTY,YOU SHOULD TALK TO THEM ABOUT KEEPING IT AS REAL AS POSSIBLE FOR THE YOUNGER KIDS. THIS MEANS THEY SHOULD PLAY ALONG WITH THE ACT. THEY SHOULD NOT TRY TO INFLUENCE YOUNGER KIDS TO NOT BELIEVE IN THE CHARACTER BY SAYING RUDE THINGS. (Back to top)
Should your child become sick, hurt, or unavailable on your party date, you may move your party to another date without loosing your deposit.
You may take advantage of this rescheduling once upon availability. If you require a second date change, there will be a $40 rescheduling fee. If there is very bad weather and you do not have a back-up plan or place to go, we will allow you to reschedule without penalty provided we are not already booked for the date and time you request. If we are already booked for the new requested date and time, we will provide you with alternate days and times that we are available.
Each performer is instructed on emergency procedures. If they got in an accident, or if their car breaks down, etc, they will immediately call you FIRST and explain the situation. Next, they'll notify us. In the event that a problem occurs beyond our control causing us at the last minute not to be able to make it, we will quickly reimburse your deposit. In addition we will let you pick another day or time, and we will do it for half of what you were going to pay for the original event. By the way it has not happened so far. (Back to top)
It depends. A person dressed up as a princess for example of course will. We have a couple superhero characters that we can push a button and a recording says well known phrases for that character. Honestly, most don't talk because if they do, the children realize its just a regular person in a costume and they will stop believing. (Back to top)
1) It gets VERY hot in the costume, especially on a hot day . We may need to take 1-2 short water breaks per hour. PLEASE PROVIDE US WITH SOME F DRINKING WATER. During the hottest days it is recommended to have a good source of shade for the characters as well as the children. Parties indoors with air conditioning are preferred by most costumed characters but not required.
2) WE ALSO NEED A PLACE TO CHANGE WHERE A CHILD IN THE PARTY WILL NOT SEE US. A garage usually works well. It helps to have someone "guard" the door or a lockable door to avoid ruining the surprise.
3) AT ALL TIMES KEEP IN MIND THE VISIBILITY, ABILITY TO HEAR, AND TO MOVE IS VERY POOR. So if you want us in some exact place for a photo PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE HELP GUIDE, TELL US and GENTLY PLACE US EXACTLY WHERE YOU WANT US TO STAND FOR PICTURES. BE AVAILABLE TO AID YOUR PARTY CHARACTER AT ALL TIMES. IT CAN BE VERY EASY TO TRIP OVER AN OBSTACLE, CHILD, ANIMAL, OR PERSON BECAUSE THE BIGGEST BLIND SPOT IN MANY COSTUMES IS LOOKING DOWN. WE TRY TO MOVE SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY BUT PLEASE KEEP A CLOSE WATCH OF CHILDREN ETC UNDER FOOT THROUGHOUT THE VISIT.
4) MAKE PLANS FOR US TO NOT BE IN THE GRASS OR DIRT. We provide expensive professional costumes. We need them to remain clean & dry for future parties and events. Please HAVE A CLEAN, DRY area, FREE OF DIRT, MUD, WATER AND ANY OTHER BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS that may cause damage to costumes or inhibit our entertainers from performing.
5) RESERVING A PARKING SPOT FOR US IS ALWAYS GREATLY APPRECIATED. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO COVER ALL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PARKING. That would include: park entrance fee or a paid parking lot. You are responsible for reimbursing us for the cost of parking upon arrival.
6) HAVE YOUR CAMERAS READY EARLY AND TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES. IT IS IN YOUR BEST INTEREST TO STRONGLY ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO POSE WITH THE CHARACTER/S FOR PICTURES DURING THE APPEARANCE NOT WHEN WE ARE LEAVING. YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID.
7) CHOOSE THE TIME YOU WANT US TO ARRIVE CAREFULLY!
If your guests have not arrived by the time we get there, regretfully we won't be able to wait. WE WILL USUALLY HAVE TO STICK WITH THE ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED START AND END TIME. Please do not (or have anyone else) tell the entertainer to wait outside, because the clock will still be ticking. Unfortunately in most cases we will still have to end at the scheduled end time. If you make them wait, you will end up wasting important entertainment time. We advise clients to expect that guests will arrive a little later than expected. From experience we can tell you this is quite common. So schedule us accordingly to get the most for your money. We really feel bad for our clients when guests show up right when we are about to leave. If we don't leave on time, we could be late for the next party or event. (Back to top)
Our number one priority is to make you happy and your event a success. With all the challenges involved sometimes it's not the easiest job. The satifaction of knowing that you are truly very happy with our efforts makes a big difference to us.
Gratuity or tip is not included in the total of your package price, so if you want to show your entertainer that you loved their performance, gratuity is a great way of doing so. Though it is not expected or required, it is always greatly appreciated and is definitely customary in this industry. Tipping an entertainer is just like tipping a waiter or waitress; Gratuity is usually between 15%-20% of your package total and it is a typical tip amount. We will call you back as quick as we. The earlier we know there is something you are not happy with, the quicker we can try to accommodate your wishes. We always want to fix any issues, problems or concerns. Any concerns or complaints about our services and/or the quality of our services rendered, need to be made WHILE our entertainer is present at your event. Once our entertainer leaves your event it is mutually assumed and agreed that you, as the customer, were satisfied with our services.
